Charles H. Barry (Chuck) formed the consulting firm, Charles H. Barry and Associates, LLC in 2005. In addition to his consulting services, he has served in senior management positions with four major casino hotel corporations, most recently as Corporate Vice President of Security and Surveillance for Tropicana Entertainment Inc. Previously, he served as Corporate Director of Investigations and Security Management for Harrah’s Entertainment and as Vice President of Gaming Surveillance and Internal Security for Park Place Entertainment and Hilton Hotels Corporation.


As the senior security executive, Chuck was responsible for developing, implementing and managing corporate security, guest and premises security programs for multiple property operations, including CCTV surveillance and security systems.


Chuck has consulted on domestic and international investigations and security matters. Investigations included, but were not limited to, compliance investigations of individuals, corporations and companies, violations of local, state and federal laws, violations of gaming regulatory compliance, and civil matters.


Chuck has conducted operational audits of gaming security and casino surveillance operations and assisted clients with installation of CCTV surveillance and security systems.


Chuck is based in Las Vegas, Nevada and is a licensed private investigator. During his career he has taught security management classes at the University of Nevada Reno and Las Vegas campuses. He has spoken at various gaming expositions such as G2E and GSX.


He is a longtime member of the American Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS), and serves on the Gaming and Wagering Protection Council. He is also a member of the Society of Former Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He is a member of the International Association of Certified Surveillance Professionals (IACSP).


Additionally, Chuck served as the representative for Hilton Hotels Corporation with the U.S. Department of State Overseas Security Advisory Council, and has held key gaming licenses or approvals in eight states and three countries.


Chuck has previous law enforcement experience as a Detective with the Phoenix Police Department and as Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He has investigative experience at the local, state and federal law levels with respect to undercover and intelligence operations, as well as reactive crimes such as theft, embezzlement, burglary and armed robbery.


He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University.
